I’m Evan Johnston, a labour activist and researcher living in Hamilton, Ontario. I am currently the Resource Coordinator at the York University Graduate Students’ Association in Toronto, and a member of CUPE Local 1281. My research interests include the sociology of work, Marxism, social movements, and working class history. I have an MA in Cultural Studies and Critical Theory from McMaster University (2012) and a BA in English and Humanities from York University (2011). In 2015, I received the Ontario Federation of Labour’s Young Worker Award. 

I am a former editorial collective member of the York University Free Press, and am a contributing editor at socialist.ca.
